The amount donated which totalled £3,246.69, was raised through a variety of challenges, raffles, cake sales and charity collections.
The Saturday Café Clubs is a charity based in Cathcart Old Parish Community Church in Glasgow. The charity offers children and young adults with additional support needs the opportunity to engage with lots of activities such as arts and crafts, dance and sport.
The charity is a vital resource for many families. Katrine Codona, the receptionist from Boclair House has experienced the excellent work the charity does, as her 12-year-old son Kerr has been going to The Saturday Café Clubs for over two years. Kerr has autism and the charity offers him a safe space to play and gain new experiences.
Meanwhile, the whole team at Boclair House were delighted to support a charity that makes a difference to many families, and also means a lot to one of their colleagues.
Katrine visited The Saturday Café Clubs to hand over the charity cheque to General Manager Caroline Paterson, who was delighted to receive it.
Katrine Codona, Boclair House said: “The Saturday Café has been a real lifeline to me and my family over the last 2 years, as goes for many other families. I know I speak on behalf of all the parents when I say we’d be lost without them. It’s been a real pleasure being able to repay the kindness
Caroline Paterson, General Manager, The Saturday Café Clubs said: “On behalf of the children, young people and families, our Board and my staff team, we are delighted that Boclair House chose to support us, and thank you for your hard work raising such an incredible amount of money. We are honoured to be able to support children and families attending our clubs and we couldn’t continue to do this without the support from all of you. I would also like to say thank you to Katrine for nominating The Saturday Cafe Clubs and for allowing Kerr into our care – he is a fabulous young man and we are so proud to be working with Kerr, his family and all the other children and families we work with”.
